Iran Targets Strategic US Assets
Iran has expanded its attacks by targeting strategic United States assets and military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. The strikes came after the US military launched a new wave of attacks on several locations across Iran.
Iran’s military claimed it used drones to strike Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait. The targets reportedly included aircraft shelters, satellite communication systems, and equipment storage facilities used by the US military.
Tehran also said it attacked US facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The strikes were reported to have targeted power generators, navigation systems, and several support buildings inside the base.
The escalation followed a major round of US strikes on Wednesday against dozens of locations linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The exchange marked a renewed intensification of hostilities between Washington and Tehran.
The conflict also appears to be spreading geographically after a drone hit two ships at Egypt’s Damietta port and caused a fire. It was the first attack on Egyptian territory since the US-Iran war began in late February, raising concerns about the security of shipping routes near the Suez Canal.
