European stock markets climbed during Friday’s trading session, putting them on track for their largest weekly gain since August. The STOXX 600 index rose 0.3% to 641.75, nearing its highest level in over two weeks, with weekly gains now exceeding 1%.
Market sentiment improved following strong performance reports from several European companies. Shares of Schneider Electric climbed 1.4% after the company raised its 2026 core profit and revenue targets for the second time, while the industrial sector as a whole gained approximately 0.7%.
The technology sector also saw a boost as global selling pressure on tech stocks began to ease. Shares of Aixtron surged 4.8% after its third-quarter orders beat expectations and the company maintained its full-year outlook.
Solid corporate performance helped stabilize the market following a volatile week, which had been driven by concerns regarding competition from China and the growing use of debt to finance artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Investors are now awaiting the Eurozone’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) inflation data, due for release today. This data will serve as a key indicator of whether inflationary pressure—fueled by high oil prices—is beginning to subside, and it may influence expectations regarding the region's interest rate policy.
