Hang Seng Rebounds Again, Risk-Off Eases
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.9% to around 25,284 on Wednesday, extending its gains for the second consecutive session. The gains were supported by weakening oil prices and a pause in geopolitical escalation in the near term, which helped stabilize risk sentiment after intense pressure from the energy surge and rising global yields that had triggered foreign outflows from Asian equities.
Despite the rebound, investors remained cautious as liquidity issues, growth momentum, and the risk of another oil surge could still maintain volatility. Nearly all sectors rose, except for energy, minerals, and communications. In stocks, gains were led by Hansoh Pharmaceutical (+3.50%), AIA Group (+1.65%), and Tencent (+0.97%), while Xiaomi (-1.96%) and Shenzhen International (-0.22%) weakened. (asd)
